TESTING & DEVELOPMENT
TEST & MEASUREMENT PRODUCTS - DRIVE
DRIVE is a portable vehicle dynamics
and road handling system, engineered for high-speed
in-vehicle data acquisition. It is a flexible,
LabVIEW®-based means of acquiring analog
data from a moving vehicle in test track and
over-the-road
test conditions. Its modular architecture and
multi-option software makes this system an unbeatable
open-ended solution for a variety of applications.
Form Factor
DRIVE consists of several components. The primary
configuration includes a PC, the Base Unit, and
software. Accessories can include everything from
sensors and external displays to additional cables.
Roush offers its customers the choice of either
purchasing the primary system or turn-key system
delivery and support.
Features
More than 100 years of testing experience went
into the DRIVE™ design, yielding dozens
of features which maximize usability and efficiency
for day-in and day-out testing:
- Curved edges and corners to protect seats
- Rugged mil-spec connectors
- All signal conditioning and power requirements
are provided in single unit - eliminates multiple
box clutter and confusion.
- Multiple power-in and power-out connections
provide power for all your needs and allow charging
vehicle battery directly through the unit (eliminates
need to access battery during long term testing.
- Rugged tie-down loops allow easy, safe, fast
securing of unit to protect driver and unit from
mishaps
- Configurable Driver's Aid provides key data
to driver from dashboard, allowing driver to keep
eyes on road while assuring testing parameters
are met.
- Driver's Aid also doubles as portable voltmeter
and sensor output display to allow easy setup,
calibration and zeroing of sensors.
- All connectors located in back and left side
of unit (passenger door and dash side) eliminating
interference on driver's side and with seat-back
- clean, simple hook-up and tear-down.
- Widely spaced connectors to allow easy connection
access even with gloves in cold-weather testing
Software
- Initial DAQ rate of 500 sample/sec/channel
- Re-sampling at 100, 50, 25, 10 or 5 sample/sec
- Custom file management hierarchy allows users
to set up vehicle, configuration and test directories
to allow structured organization of test data.
- Setup screen enables users to configure DAQ
by such functions as entering channel numbers,
names and descriptions and selecting transducer
types.
- Configurable transducer libraries allow users
to configure a variety of transducers by entering
name, model, serial number, unit, default display
ranges and conversion factors.
- Triggers from hardware or software start acquiring
data, which is saved in sequential files that
increment automatically.
- Real time displays of 4 channels at a time during
data acquisition
- Users can step through all the channels, 4 at
a time.
- Cursor provides time and value for each plot.
- Zoom-in is provided using cursors.
- Users can also recall previous data Acquisition,
analysis, display and spreadsheet-compatible filing
in LabVIEW™- readable binary format or ASCII
format files.
